Senator Rand Paul, and other Conservatives Black Listed for pointing out that in this time of financial crisis at home it is foolish to spend billions in a war that is legally or by International law ours.
My Comment:
Sen Rand Paul is one of the few voices of reason in Congress. He is forever working to protect the US from itself. Congress is afflicted with TDS and perhaps even worse, MMT which when it comes to spending is the Modern Money Theory. This states that we need not worry about the National Debt, since half of it is in entitlements [pensions and social programs we pay to ourselves]. It is also a dangerous idea that took Germany down in the late 1920-30s. It is a theory that as long as you can keep printing money you will always have all you need. There are morte than 50 nations who tried this and failed post WW I. Argentina, SRI Lanka, Columbia are most notable in our time. Even China is having bank failures, and serious debt problems based on the MMT concept. Rand Paul is pointing out that just in one area, the HIMER 142 platform which can fire six missiles in less than 10 seconds. The rockets alone can cost between 100K to 850 K USD each, [Price depends on range and target] while the shorter range rockets for ground use against Russian artillery range in the 125K USD cost. To date Rusia has fired over 750 such rockets` and Ukraine with US supplies is now matching them. None of this counts the cost of the shoulder launched anti-tank Javelin, and AGM 114Ls that NATO has supplied by the thousands. As president Trump pointed out, all of these were supplied mostly by the US to NATO members. He also told Zelinski before he left office that it was in his best interest to negotiate some kind of settlement and not go to war with Putin expecting costly US help, biden is doing exactly the opposite which may culminate in WWIII. The cost of warfare is staggering and useless since once you fire an $850,000 rocket that money is gone and it may not even hit the target, though the smaller systems have a 90% kill rate. Rand Paul is just saying it is all a waste of money that could be used for more humanitarian purposes when the US faces fuel and food shortages, and a sagging GDP under biden.
